The Sapling Donation Project is a rehabilitation work carried out to bring back to life the lands significantly affected by disasters such as fires, earthquakes, and floods. With donations from responsible people who have the consciousness of unity and solidarity, forests are created by planting much more than a single person or institution can plant.

As the European Aid Foundation, we have been carrying out sapling planting projects in Turkey and Palestine with the contributions of our donors who have been saying "I want to plant trees" and "I want to breathe for the future" for many years.

Why Does Palestine Need Sapling Donation?

The fertile basins of Palestine have hosted many civilizations for centuries. Today, however, these fertile lands are losing their habitability daily as they have been destroyed by human hands.

The 14-year siege of Israel has been destroying fertile agricultural lands not only by the devastating effects of biological weapons and bombs but also by releasing toxic pesticides. Therefore, today, the Palestinian lands are waiting to be brought back to life with the contributions of sapling donations, as a problem of the Ummah, not of a person.

Chemicals that poison the air and water, bombs that cause wildering to replace productive crops, and efforts to destroy vegetation endanger the lives of not only trees but also people, animals, and all other living things in the region.

In particular, for farmers who make a living by agricultural labor, if sufficient rehabilitation works are not carried out on their lands and fruit trees do not grow, they eventually fall into a difficult situation and lose their livelihoods. In this case, it is vital to make both fruit production and land reclamation with tree donation.

Responsible people who want to donate saplings or plant trees can make their donations through reliable institutions. However, one should be careful against malicious platforms that arise especially in times of fire and disaster and abuse the conscience of the society. What Are We Doing Within the Scope of the Sapling Project?

As the European Aid Foundation, we are planting saplings within the scope of the sapling donation project, especially in Turkey, which faces intense forest fires in summer, and in Palestine, whose agricultural lands have been destroyed by chemical attacks. In Gaza, located in the southwest of Palestine and the largest city of the strip in the region, we implemented the project of planting saplings to support the farmers who were exposed to attacks and could not rehabilitate their lands. This project, which we started with the invitation ‘’ You too can have a tree planted in Palestine’’, is conducive to the fact that the arid lands find lush saplings every year, with the great interest and generous help of our donator.

The planting of saplings, which we have realized after the realization of our tree donation project, is manifested by the smiles on the faces of the Gaza farmers, who cannot rehabilitate their lands due to financial difficulties and who are constantly attacked due to the conflicts in the region, and with a sincere thanks reflected in their eyes.

Within the scope of the sapling project, thousands of different types of saplings such as olives and lemons have been successfully planted in Gaza so far. In Turkey, especially in 2021, improvement and sapling planting activities were carried out in 270 forest fire regions that occurred in 53 provinces. One of the stages of the sapling project is to provide all the necessary tools and equipment to ensure the continuity of the maintenance of the lands. How Much is Sapling Donation?

The sapling donation fee of our foundation is € 10. By donating only € 10, you can plant a sapling for the future and become one of the architects of green tomorrows.

Why Should I Donate Saplings?

Trees are not just the lungs of the region they are in, but the lungs of the whole world. Therefore, all people must make amends for all trees that were cut, burned, destroyed or destructed, and fertile lands that are poisoned. In this case, there is no one to say; "The destruction of trees is not my responsibility’’. For the ecosystem to remain alive and for living things to survive, healthy trees should be left for tomorrow, and forests should be created by donating saplings.

In our religion as well, attention is drawn to the importance of planting trees. The upcoming hadith is known by all of us. "If the apocalypse is happening and one of you has a sapling in his/her hand if he/she can plant it before Doomsday comes, he/she should do it immediately!’’ (Ahmed, III, 191, 183).

"If a Muslim plants any tree or plant, what is eaten from it is a charity for himself, what is stolen from it is a charity for himself, and what wild animals eat is alms, and what a person takes from him is alms, what birds eat is alms, and what a person takes from him is alms for himself.’’ (Muslim, Musâkat, 7)

“When a Muslim plants a tree, and people and beasts and birds eat from it, all of it is the charity for him/her till doomsday”. (Ahmed, VI, 444. Bkz. Muslim Musâkât,7)

These hadiths are among the hadiths about planting saplings. From this, it can be clearly understood that planting saplings is a very beneficial task in terms of both the improved lands, being a breath of the future, providing livelihoods to the needy, instilling good deeds in the households of our past, and working as a Charity-i Concubine.

A person should plant saplings and give hope to arid lands, even just to give charity with endless rewards and donate to the lives of their past. The main motivation of many of our donors who say "I want to make a tree planted to my name" is the effort to leave such a beautiful mark in the world.

How Can I Get a Sapling Donation Certificate?

The sapling donation certificate is specially issued in your name immediately after your donation and is sent to you by e-mail via the contact addresses you have shared. The sapling donation certificate is a certificate of appreciation that contains information such as in which region, how many saplings you have planted, and how many people will benefit.

Can I Donate Saplings as a Gift?

You can donate saplings to your loved one through our foundation. Sapling donation is a kind of charity that can be done for various reasons such as birthdays, congrats marriage, and baby donations to the deceased. All you have to do for this is to write the name of the person you want to donate and your special note, if any, in the relevant note section while making your donation. When a tree donation is made as a gift, the certificate can be issued in the name of the person to be gifted.
